The Boredomfighters are a non-profit team increasing access to music making resources & musical experiences in underserved schools and communities.
Combining forces with creative industries and school districts to save music education and #helpkidsmakebeats!
Our Story
The Boredomfighters movement was started by a group of music producers, festival throwers, and educators who found themselves in the campgrounds of music festivals setting up immersive studio spaces called “The Instrument Garden”, making music purely out of the noises in the environment, building collaborations with total strangers.
One day our founders were invited to bring the studio to a school and everything changed…
The way kids lit up from having access to modern music making tools and knowledge about the music industry was enough to inspire the life into what is now a nonprofit shepherding the modern era of music making into communities and education systems nationwide.

Our Values
The Studio Is Everywhere
No matter the resources available, our creative mindset will carry us through. Every neighborhood holds the potential to create joy and belonging. When people feel seen, heard, and valued, creativity becomes not just self-expression, but a force for equity and connection.
Collaboration Over Competition
We build with the community's best interest in mind, and believe that everyone in every industry can find a way to extend their hand to help others in their community realize their potential.
Plant Seeds of Sustainable Joy
We don't just run one-off programs; we plant lasting creative ecosystems. Every studio we install, every mentor we train, and every youth we inspire should help creativity take root in the community long after the music stops.
Everyone Has A Sound To Share
We believe creativity is a human right, and that everyone holds the keys to get through the door to their most genuine self. Our mission is to ensure that every young person has the tools, mentorship, and confidence to share their ideas, tell their story, and build their future.

Meet The Founder
“Growing up in government housing with a single mom on disability, the programs I longed for were always out of reach, the resources at home were limited.
As I grew older, without any creative outlets around us, I watched friends drift into dangerous patterns. Destruction and disconnection felt like the only option… but music changed that.
Making songs with my friends and being part of community events gave us something to live for, a glimpse into a different life. A life I wanted for myself and for everyone around me.
Because of this, I’ve dedicated my life to empowering kids like me to harness their creativity and build communities that allow them to see their purpose before the world decides it for them.”

"In a world where culturally relevant music education and self-expression are crucial, the Boredomfighters work is invaluable."

What Others Have To Say
We KNOW what we are doing is special but don’t just take our word for it, here is what our collaborators have to say:

What truly set Boredomfighters apart was their genuine & natural connection with the students. They fostered an environment of encouragement and support, allowing each child to express themselves freely.

What impresses me most is Boredom Fighters' commitment to creating a family-friendly environment in electronic music, steering it away from the pitfalls sometimes associated with the scene.

Never, in the hundreds of events I've planned over 53 years, have I ever seen a more engaged group of 5th graders.

The kids loved it. The impact of them believing that they can write their own lyrics has definitely carried over into their literacy and creative output.
